Formerly known as Series 60, Nokia's S60 is a smartphone platform that sits on top of the Symbian OS operating system. Originally designed for smartphones without touchscreens, Nokia has indicated that it might expand S60's limits now that it plans to merge the S80 (communicator) and S90 (multimedia device) platforms into S60. S60 is primarily used by Nokia on its own handsets, but has been licensed by other manufacturers such as Samsung, Siemens, and LG.
