FCC
The FCC is the agency within the United States government that regulates wired and wireless communications inside the country. Any device that transmits on a regulated frequency band in the US requires FCC approval. As such, FCC approval is required for any mobile phone that is to be used within the US. In recent years the FCC website has gained notoriety as a source for information on unannounced devices since the FCC makes public the approval application documents it receives.
