HSCSD
HSCSD stands for High-Speed Circuit-Switched Data. It was a system used for data calls on GSM networks before packet based systems such as GPRS and EDGE became prevalent. HSCSD is variant of CSD that allows for multiple call channels to be bonded together to provide faster connection speeds. It was capable of offering speeds roughly equivalent to those offered by 56kbps dial-up modems. The system was never widely adopted outside of Europe.
