megapixel

A megapixel equates to 1,000,000 pixels, and is often used to refer to the resolution of a photograph or camera. For example, a camera capable of shooting only VGA (640x480) resolution photos would be rated as .3 megapixel (640 x 480 = 307,200). Common resolutions for cameraphones are 1.3MP, 2MP, 3.2MP, and 5MP.
