OQO 02 Ultra Mobile PC: First in the World With Integrated Mobile Broadband Service Powered by Sprin

OQO has officially announced their latest ultra mobile PC: OQO 02 Model. The device weighs little more than one pound, and is the smallest Windows Vista capable PC. Two years ago, OQO introduced the world to the first model of the UMPC, the Model 01+. While two years is a bit of a wait in the tech world, it seems to have been worth it.

OQO Model 02 is up to four times faster and six times brighter than its predecessor. It also features a new ergonomic backlit keyboard and capacitive TouchScrollers for easy input and navigation. For complete wireless connectivity, the OQO 2 UMPC also features EV-DO wireless WAN, WiFi, and Bluetooth.

The base model OQO 02 starts at USD1,499, but the device can be customized to suit any organization or individual user, which could bring the price up higher. The base model 02 comes with a 1.5GHz processor, 60GB hard drive, 1GB RAM, and integrated mobile broadband capability.

The OQO 02 is the first computer in the UMPC Pro category, which was attained by incorporating enterprise class features and functionality into this pocketable ultra mobile device. This is a great device for casual users, but is made with professional business users in mind.

The device can be ordered immediately at OQO's online store, or by calling 877-676-6688. They expect to begin shipping by the end of Q1 2007.
