Sony Ericsson Z558 clamshell announced

Sony Ericsson today announced the Z558 phones, a tri-band GPRS 900/1800/1900 clamshell. This is the first non-Symbian based Sony Ericsson handset to offer a touch screen.

The features of the Sony Ericsson Z558 will include a 262k colour TFT touch-screen 220 x 176 pixels and a 128 x 36 pixel STN sub display, a 1.3 mega pixel camera with 4 x digital zoom, video recording and playback, MP3/AAC Support, FM Radio, Push e-mail, 18 MB user memory, Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot for up to 1 GB of memory. Other features include handwriting recognition, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth.

The Sony Ericsson Z558 will be available in Expresso Black from October 2006. Price was not announced.
