Opera Software today announced that Opera Mini, the free Web browser for mobile phones, is available for the popular BlackBerry and Palm handsets.

Opera Mini launched in February this year and has since exceeded 1 billion pages viewed. Usage statistics reported by Opera in August revealed that Google search is the most popular .com site visited using Opera Mini, followed by Gmail.com, Friendster.com, MySpace.com, Yahoo Messenger and hi5.com.

Opera Mini is available free of charge via download at mini.opera.com. An Internet Data Plan is required to access the Internet. Verizon Wireless customers are currently not supported. Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) support is required for the Treo.
