SonyEricsson - D750 Review

D750

10th March 2005

The Sony Ericsson D750i is essentially the same handset as the K750i and W800i, only in a slightly different case and with some software changes and branded to T-Mobile.

It's a good phone, but in the interests of conserving ones and zeros we won't repeat the all the details here, except that the Sony Ericsson D750i has a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, expandable memory, multimedia playback and a good sized screen.

One question we have though, is why does the phone exist at all? Sony Ericsson are billing it as a ''T-Mobile Exclusive'' which is stretching the point when the D750i is really just a subtly tweaked K750i. Still, T-Mobile are the customer, and Sony Ericsson have done the same thing for Vodafone in the past with the V800 and F500i.

It seems that the D750i's real Unique Selling Proposition is the integration into T-Mobile's ''Mobile Jukebox'' service, enabling users to download various tracks directly from T-Mobile. In this respect then, the D750i designation simply means that this facility is already programmed into the handset, rather than the user having to do it themselves.
