SonyEricsson - T630 Review

T630

The Sony Ericsson T630 is an upgrade of the classic T610 handset.

The T630's screen has been improved and is now brighter and clearer, borrowing the display used in the new Z600 model, running in 65,000 colours at 128x160 pixels. Plus the T630 comes in a pretty semi-translucent case (Sony Ericsson call it ''Frosty Silver'') making it an extremely distinctive phone.

Measuring 102 x 43 x 17 mm and weighing 92.5 grams, the Sony Ericsson T630 is a compact but feature-packed phone. The T630 is a tri-band phone supporting GPRS, SMS, MMS and email and sports a WAP 2.0 browser. The phone can be connected to a PC via Bluetooth, infra-red or cable.

Standby time is up to 13 days with a talk time of up to 14 hours, so this looks to be a good business phone.

The digital camera supports Sony Ericsson's QuickShare systen to allow photos to be easily shared with others. The camera on the T630 itself outputs at up to 640x480 resolution, although it seems that some of this is done by software rendering rather that by native resolution. A neat feature is a small mirror on the back of the phone to help with self portraits, this enables the Sony Ericsson T630 to overcome one of the problems with the ''candy bar'' format of handset.

Games and applications run on either the Java or Mophun platforms, and the Sony Ericsson T630 is bundled with V-Rally 2 to keep you amused. The T630 is certainly a stylish and capable phone for its size.
